Ordering Salt Tiles in the USA: Shipping, Weight and What to Expect

By Natural Salt Co.
Brown cardboard shipping box labeled Natural Salt Pure Himalayan Salt

To order salt tiles in the USA from Natural Salt Co., count your tiles at about 4.5 per square foot plus about 10% extra, choose a pack mix, and check out on naturalsaltco.us, where the shipping options and charges for your address are shown before you pay. Plan for real weight: each 8 x 4 x 1 inch tile weighs about 2.9 lb, so a 6 x 4 ft wall of 119 tiles is about 345 lb of salt before packaging. For large, custom or hard-to-reach deliveries, contact our sales team for a quote before you order.

Ordering Salt Tiles in the USA: The Short Version

  1. Count tiles: wall area in sq ft x 4.5, then add about 10% for cuts and spares.
  2. Pick packs: compare the approx. price per tile across pack sizes, since the per-tile price does not drop at every step.
  3. Check shipping at checkout: options, charges and delivery estimates depend on the product, the order and the destination.
  4. Plan the delivery: a few hundred pounds of salt needs help to unload and a dry place to store it.
  5. Inspect on arrival: check boxes and tiles, take photos of any damage and contact support with your order number.

Step 1: Work Out How Many Salt Tiles to Order

Our Himalayan salt tiles measure 8 x 4 x 1 inches. The face is 32 square inches, and a square foot is 144 square inches, so 144 / 32 = 4.5 tiles per square foot. That matches our store data: the pack of 50 is listed at about 11.11 sq ft of coverage (50 / 4.5).

We recommend adding about 10% as a planning allowance for edge cuts, corners and a few spares. Patterns with more cuts may need more. For a step-by-step method, see how to measure a wall for a salt wall, the salt tiles per square foot tables and our salt tile size guide.

Step 2: Choose Your Salt Tile Packs

These are Natural Salt Co. store prices for pink tiles from our live collection page. Per-tile cost is the pack price divided by the tile count. Coverage uses 4.5 tiles per sq ft. Salt weight uses the 2.9 lb per tile shown on our product pages (for example, the pack of 50 lists 145 lb and the pack of 300 lists 870 lb). Packaging adds weight on top.

The per-tile price falls from about $5.99 for a single tile to about $5.33 in the pack of 300, but not at every step. The pack of 100 works out to about $5.72 per tile, slightly more than the pack of 70 at about $5.71. The pack of 100 product page may show a quote button instead of a price, so confirm it in your cart or with sales.

Step 3: Check Shipping Options and Charges at Checkout

Our shipping policy explains that shipping options, charges and estimates depend on the product, the order and the destination. Available methods and charges appear during checkout when the destination is eligible. Because the rate depends on your address and order size, we do not list a flat shipping price here.

  • Delivery dates are estimates. They can change after the carrier accepts the order or because of conditions outside our control.
  • Tracking: use the tracking and carrier updates supplied for your order when available.
  • Offers: product promotions or shipping offers apply when they are displayed in the current checkout.
  • Large or custom orders: contact sales before placing a large, custom or destination-restricted order, such as a commercial project or a remote address.

Before you pay, review the delivery address, contact details, items and quantities. A wrong unit number or phone number can slow down a heavy delivery.

Step 4: Plan for Weight and Delivery Day

Salt tiles are heavy for their size. Even a small 4 x 3 ft panel is about 174 lb of salt, and an 8 x 6 ft wall is about 690 lb. A few practical steps can make delivery day easier:

  • Ask sales how a large order is packed and delivered, and whether delivery is to the curb or inside, before you check out.
  • Have a second person, a hand truck or a dolly ready for heavy boxes, and follow safe lifting practices.
  • Clear a short, dry path from the drop-off point to your storage area.
  • For a commercial site, tell your contractor the expected delivery window so someone can receive it.

Step 5: Inspect Your Delivery and Report Any Damage

Open the boxes soon after delivery and check that the tile count matches your order. If a box or tile is damaged, take photos before you move or discard anything.

  • Contact support with your order number and relevant photos or carrier details.
  • Do not ship anything back until our team confirms eligibility and gives instructions, as our refund policy explains.
  • Keep the packaging, the product, your photos and the carrier information until the review is complete.

The 10% allowance from Step 1 also gives you spares if a tile chips during cutting. Our guide on cutting salt bricks and tiles covers how to reduce chipping.

Step 6: Store the Tiles Until Installation

Salt draws moisture from humid air, so we recommend keeping the boxes indoors, closed and off bare concrete floors until you are ready to install. A dry room with steady temperature is a good holding spot. Our salt tile care guide covers room humidity once the wall is up.

What Else to Order With Your Salt Wall Tiles

Ordering everything together helps your installer start on schedule. Common add-ons when you order salt wall tiles:

  • Adhesive: our pink salt adhesive is sold as a single tube (approx. $30), a 2-pack (approx. $54) and a 3-pack (approx. $80). Check the product page for coverage per tube, and ask your installer to confirm the amount for your wall and backing.
  • Lighting: if you plan to backlight the wall, settle the lighting and wiring with a qualified electrician before tiles arrive. See the salt wall planning guide.
  • Bricks instead of tiles: for a thicker, heavier build, compare our salt bricks for walls. Bricks are twice as thick as tiles, so they weigh more per piece; see the brick product pages for listed weights.

Not sure which product fits? The product selection guide and the salt tile buyer guide walk through the options.

Request a Quote for a Large Salt Tile Order

For a commercial wall, a multi-room project or a delivery you want confirmed before checkout, request a project quote. Send your wall sizes, delivery ZIP code and timeline, and our team can confirm the tile count, pack mix and delivery options with you. You can also order tile packs online at any time.
