Per sq ft figures divide the salt cost by 80 sq ft and round to the nearest dollar. The pack mixes are the lowest-cost combinations we found among packs that show a price on the pink salt tiles and salt brick collection pages. Larger packs, such as 150 or more pink bricks and 400 or more pink tiles, did not show a listed price when we checked, so they are left out here. Ask for a quote if you want to compare them.

How Many Bricks or Tiles Does an 8x10 Salt Wall Need?

Natural Salt Co. bricks and tiles share the same 8 x 4 inch face. Bricks are 2 inches deep and tiles are 1 inch deep. Here is the count:

  • One face is 8 x 4 = 32 sq in. One square foot is 144 sq in, so 144 / 32 = 4.5 pieces per sq ft.
  • 8 ft x 10 ft = 80 sq ft. 80 x 4.5 = 360 pieces with tight joints.
  • Add 10% for cuts, chips and color sorting: 360 x 1.10 = 396 pieces.

Laid flat in rows, a wall 10 ft wide and 8 ft tall works out to 15 pieces per row (120 in / 8 in) and 24 rows (96 in / 4 in), which is the same 360 pieces. In a room with 8 ft ceilings, an "8x10" wall usually means 10 ft wide by 8 ft tall. Joint gaps, trim and outlets change the count a little, so check your layout against the salt tile size guide or our article on how many salt tiles per square foot.

Salt Tiles vs Salt Bricks: Cost per Piece

Per piece prices below divide each listed pack price by its pack size. Bigger packs do not automatically cost less per piece, so compare the numbers before you pick a pack.

Prices checked October 15, 2026. All prices are approximate and can change; see the product page for the current price.

Two things stand out in the store data. For bricks, the Pack of 70 costs less per brick (about $5.53) than the Pack of 100 (about $5.77), which is why the brick mix above uses five 70-packs. For tiles, the Pack of 300 is the lowest per tile, but 300 + 100 tiles costs approx. $2,172, while two 200-packs cost approx. $2,142 for the same 400 tiles.

So which should you pick? Tiles weigh less and cost a little less for this wall size. Bricks are twice as thick (2 inches vs 1 inch), which can suit stacked builds that rest on a base. Our salt tiles vs salt bricks comparison covers the trade-offs in more detail.

Adhesive for an 8x10 Salt Wall

The adhesive product pages state that one tube covers about 30 to 40 salt bricks. Tiles share the same face size, so we use the same range as a planning estimate for tiles.

  • 396 pieces / 40 per tube = 9.9, so plan on at least 10 tubes.
  • 396 pieces / 30 per tube = 13.2, so plan on up to 14 tubes.

At listed prices, 10 tubes cost approx. $268 (two 3-tube packs and two 2-tube packs) and 14 tubes cost approx. $374 (four 3-tube packs and one 2-tube pack), about $26.66 to $27.00 per tube. A single tube lists at about $29.99. Some adhesive listings show a pack size in the title that differs from the URL, so confirm the tube count on the pink salt adhesive product page before you order. Our salt wall adhesive guide covers application tips.

Brick Kit vs Loose Bricks

The Himalayan Salt Bricks for Sauna 500 Pack includes 500 pink bricks and 17 tubes of adhesive for approx. $2,870, about $5.74 per brick with adhesive included. Compared with loose bricks for this wall:

OptionBricksAdhesive tubesApprox. cost
Loose bricks + adhesive40010 to 14approx. $2,490 to $2,596
500 Pack kit50017approx. $2,870

Prices checked October 15, 2026. All prices are approximate and can change; see the product page for the current price.

The kit costs approx. $274 to $380 more for this wall but adds 100 spare bricks and extra adhesive. That can make sense if you plan a second feature or want spares for repairs. If you need just the 8x10 wall, the loose mix costs less.

Weight and Wall Support

Store listings give 2.9 lb per tile and 5.5 lb per brick. For 360 installed pieces:

  • Tiles: 360 x 2.9 = about 1,044 lb, or about 13 lb per sq ft.
  • Bricks: 360 x 5.5 = about 1,980 lb, or about 24.75 lb per sq ft.

That load is before adhesive and any frame. Ask a qualified contractor or engineer to confirm the wall, floor and backing can carry it, and follow the adhesive maker's instructions. Our salt brick wall weight guide shows the load math in more detail.

Ways to Keep an 8x10 Salt Wall on Budget

  • Choose pink over white. For 400 tiles, pink costs approx. $2,142 and white approx. $2,431 at listed prices.
  • Compare pack mixes. For bricks, 70-packs cost less per brick than 100-packs right now.
  • Do not over-order. We use 10% as a planning figure; layouts with many cuts may need more.
  • Ask for a project quote. Larger packs had no listed price when we checked, and a quote can cover salt, adhesive and freight together.
  • Size down if needed. A smaller feature costs less; see our 4x8 salt wall cost breakdown for a 32 sq ft example.
